For referees

Find football fixtures to referee

RefSorted is a football referee marketplace. Teams post fixtures directly when they need referee cover, including grassroots football matches. Set your availability and travel radius to browse matching listings with kick-off times, venues, match fees, and requirements shown upfront. Apply for the matches that fit; the posting team reviews applications and confirms the referee.

See fixtures beside the requirements

Choose the days and times you are available and set a travel radius from your postcode. You then see fixtures that match those choices, with the displayed referee requirements beside each fixture, including the level and any FA evidence requirement shown for that fixture.

Listings change as teams post and fill fixtures. Check the date, kick-off time, venue, age group, format, fee and eligibility requirements on each fixture before you apply. RefSorted does not guarantee suitability, work, assignment, cover or attendance.

Availability

Set when you can officiate

Keep your available days and times current so the fixtures you browse stay relevant to your week.

Travel

Set how far you will travel

Use a travel radius from your postcode to focus on fixtures in the areas you can reach.

Requirements

Read each fixture brief

Every fixture shows its referee requirements, so review the level and any FA evidence requirement listed before applying.

Choose how you hear about fixtures

Pick Instant email alerts, a Daily summary, or Off for emails about fixtures that fit your choices. Instant email alerts require current-season FA evidence to be uploaded. Alert timing and delivery can vary, so the fixture list remains the place to check what is currently available.

You can change your alert choice in your account settings at any time.

Applying is not confirmation

  1. Browse and apply

Review the fixture details and send an application for the fixtures that suit your availability, travel and level.

  2. The team reviews

The posting team reviews applications and confirms the referee for the fixture. An application does not reserve the fixture.

  3. Confirmed booking

Match-contact details are shared only after a booking is confirmed, and only with the participants in that booking.

See how teams post fixtures and review applications to understand what happens after you apply.

Keep your schedule and fees together

Your confirmed fixtures stay together in a schedule with a calendar view, alongside completed match fees and the matches you have refereed through RefSorted.

RefSorted is running as a pilot, so fixtures and features can change while the service is being tested.

Match fees are settled directly

Each posting team sets its own match fee. You and the team agree and settle the stated fee directly outside RefSorted. During the current pilot, RefSorted charges a £0 platform fee. RefSorted does not collect, hold, escrow or guarantee match-fee payments. Read our guide to grassroots football referee match fees for what to confirm before accepting a fixture.
